Butte College has made the decision to participate with Intercollegiate Spring II seasons.
“After a recommendation from the KIN/Athletics Re-Opening Committee, Butte College has approved it will offer Spring competition beginning April 10, 2021,” said Mario Vela, interim athletics director.
Vela said the college has embarked on in depth protocols to ensure safe participation for student-athletes, staff and the campus community. The sports involved include Baseball, Softball, and Track & Field. The season is scheduled to begin March 27, 2021 and run through June 23, 2021 with competition beginning April 10, 2021.
“Butte College will compete with other regional teams on an abbreviated schedule. We will allow limited scrimmages for some of the early spring sports that have been unable to compete. We are able to do this because the capable staff in athletics have implemented strict protocols and regular COVID-19 testing that are keeping our athletes and staff safe,” said Vela.
